its almost as if when im doing so good its one occurence that messes with how good i was doing, and i dont want to be sinning and all of a sudden christ comes back and my light isnt shining because he cant see my difference from the darkness. and how do you just cut off people who you know isnt good for you.....

Pray to God for the fruit of boldness, i know it's difficult but if they are hindering you then it's necessary. Jesus chose carefully who his 12 disciples were and we have to be careful to choose are friends. The Bible says not to allow sinners to entice you, and the best way to do that is not to have fellowship with any but we can still show them the love of God but we have to be set apart from them for in the book of 2 Corinthians its says to not to be unequally yoked with unbelivers.

Morgan, I have to agree with Dion on the comment he left....it is about what is being sown in your heart. I don't use any foul language, and I never have a problem with it slipping out of my mouth when angered, emotional, etc. because I don't allow a steady diet of it to come into my heart.

I would encourage you to take an analysis on your life and examine all the ways that you are hearing or reading foul language. Then explore ways (with the Holy Spirit's help) that you can NOT allow that language to be inserted into your heart...because "out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks" (Matt. 12:34). It's about eliminating what is being planted in abundance within your heart. The elimination process may include asking friends to edit their speech around you, spending less time with or eliminating some friends, staying away from some movies, editing your music choice, scaling back on any social media or reading materials that often include foul language, etc.

With God's help you CAN do this successfully, and I know that you WILL be the virtuous Proverbs 31 woman that God has called you to be!

so I realized some of the slow jams, my family, my friends, some of the people on my social internet sites can cause me to often use foul language. pastor David it may be easy for you to not curse but what happens when theres only two people in your family who know God and the ones your close to doesnt know them at all? thats all im often around my friends that im slowly moving away from dont have the same thinking I do because they think through the natural, im tryna move onto another level even though im young, but what happens when those are your only friends and those are the ones that you been through alot with from stinky socks to crying because we missed our bus? and especially on the social sites when my thoughts are meant to reach people accross the globe because these sites are nation wide and my only desire is to tell the world about God even though im young.....this is the situation im in.
I need help distinguishing the voice of God from all the voices I hear on a daily basis.
The title of Fred Price's book sums up this dilemma pretty well: “Faith, Foolisness, or Presumption”
I can honestly say by experience; staying in your word and prayer works the best. (reading 1st and 2nd samuel in which being obedient with God's commandments allow the peoplewho keepthem to hear from him directly or through either messenger. It also helps by getting people that are negative or do not believe in the same things away from you, because as long as there are negative things flowing in your ears/eyes or negative thoughts it clouds your judgment as well as muffle how you hear God. And you can always tell the voice of God because he never goes against his words. (hope it helps)
