I hope that all is well with you. Here is some information about upcoming events:
-Sunday, April 11, 2010: We are asking that all youth who are coming to fundraise on this day wear their "Eliminate the Gray" T-Shirts from the last Youth Encounter. We are selling the rest of the shirts in between services for $10 and want the youth to promote them by wearing them. (Only wear them if you have them!) We will also be continuing with Rivers of Eden water and popcorn sales.
-Florida Missions Trip July 6-15, 2010: ALL YOUTH ATTENDING THE TRIP WHO ARE 18 YEARS AND OLDER MUST HAVE A VALID STATE ID. YOU CANNOT GET ON THE AIRPLANE WITHOUT ONE!!!
-Retreat/Missions Trip Registration Paper Work: We must register each youth for the Florida Retreat. To get this paperwork, I encourage each youth to join the Missions Trip Group on GoHardForChrist.com because the file will be posted on there. I will also try to email it if possible and will definitely have paper copies for some of the youth to fill out as they come to serve their shift time in between services on Sundays and Wednesdays. The overall goal is to have everyone fill out this information by the End of April 2010.
-Sponsor Fees: Everyone should be seeking out sponsors to help with any trip finances. Just to define, a personal sponsor is someone who donates a significant amount of money towards one particular youth's trip. This money belongs to that youth only, and must be turned in to me so I can record it. If you receive significant sponsor fees, this will lower the amount of shifts needed to attend the trip. A revised sponsor letter is attached and I strongly advise you to use it to your advantage!
-Donations: If youth receive donations while they are fundraising ($5, $10, $20, or more), this money goes toward the entirety of the trip, not to that youth who received it. The only donation money that a youth can claim as their own is sponsor money (as explained in the previous point). Other than that, money that is given to them must go into the entire trip fund even if the giver says they are giving a small amount to that particular youth. Any questions on this, please let me know.
-Youth Explosion: We will be scheduling practices for the 2010 Takeover Explosion very soon so stay alert because I will keep you posted!
-Points/Shifts: I will also be letting the youth participants know where they are in terms of points and shifts. As of know, we have completed 12 weeks and have 10 more weeks until June 16th, which is the deadline for points and shifts. On average, the youth should have completed at least 24 shifts by now.
