Go Hard For Christ

HOPE FOR HAITI

With the incident that occurred in Haiti about two weeks ago, it's come to my understanding that many times (or may be I should say every time) the LORD uses various catastrophes to heighten the alertness of his Church. For in many ways, the Church of Christ performs best under heavy pressure and opposition. As recorded in the Bible time and time again during the first years of the early Church and year after, trials and tribulation were key to the expansion of Gospel message in the World. Now in our day, presumably due many comforts, many members of Christianity in western civilization have become rather complacent; furthermore, I believe that God allows somethings, many of which destructive, to pervade the earth in order to remind his Church not to forget "where" they are and "what" they ought to be doing.
Indeed, many people ask: "Why Haiti?"---after all it was a nation already rebuilding from a savaged past; Truth be told, we don't really know the answer to that. Some "good" people say it's the hand of God...but I disagree! For if it's really the "hand of God", I must say that that god has arthritis because he missed! Truly and surely, there are much better targets (countries) to be hit if God wanted to sweep or kill anything in judgment. Anyways, the God we know doesn't seek out weak and battered targets...but he gives grace to the humble, esteem to the destitute---this as Christians ought we believe. He also sets himself against the proud and conceited, and makes hardship befall the unfaithful.
So we ask: "What now? Where do we go from here?" Personally, I don't know! However, I do know of a man called JESUS. He knows a lot about the past, the present and the future; consequently, we must all seek His wisdom. JESUS, as we know, is the Son of the living God and the Chief cornerstone. He is what Haiti and the World needs right now more than ever before.
To finish, I say Haiti will rise again only by the grace of Christ through you, me and others (and not money in and of itself). For like every other thing in western civilization that is enduring and time-tested, Haiti must rebuild on the true and only everlasting cornerstone---JESUS (ISAIAH 9:10).
