About Me: If you selected Other as your reason for joining please also provide details here: hi! i'm darilyn. i graduated from Neuqua Valley High School in Naperville, IL c/o 2009. i will be attending Georgia State University or Berklee College of Music in august of 2010. I haven't decided yet because I haven't decided between majoring in Theatre and minoring in vocal performance (GSU) or majoring in professional performance and doing extra-curricular theatre (berklee). anyway, about me? I love animals. i come from a big family. i collect old records. i love to shop at thrift stores, flee markets, ethnic shops, and antique bazaars. I perform. I've been singing since before i could properly pronounce a full sentence. I've been dancing almost as long. I started dabbling in acting my sophmore year at John McEachern High School in Powdersprings, GA. since then i've played such roles as "sister moore" in james baldwin's "the amen corner, effie white in dreamgirls, rose in fences, juke joint singer in tapestries, the apothecary/lead dancer in romeo and juliet, calpurnia in to kill a mockingbird, and polly in crazy for you. i was also a member of thornwood high school's speech team and Neuqua Valley's WildScats vocal jazz ensemble. Also a member of the grammy awarded winning Neuqua Valley varsity chorus where i was the resident advisor to historically african-american music. I was also a member of platinum dance troupe and O.U.T. dance. my dream is to take broadway by storm. not only earning roles such as Aida and Nala of the lion king, but also winning roles that are traditionally type casted. but on the not-so-uptight-and-boring sinde, i talk a whole lot. i love to laugh. i love to read and write. i love the outdoor. the moon intrigues me. the smell of new born babies' breathe is delightfully comforting. I have a huge afro and i love it! i love to work out. some people call me a perfectionist but i just believe "if you're gonna do something, do it right." I'm 1/3 of SimplyGrace, the girl group that sings at church sometimes. i think pastor is so sweet and adorable. i love you all. and did i say i talk too much?... yeah. nice to meet you.
