On my way home from work this evening, I was listening to the radio (something I rarely do) when I heard this song. Initially, I was caught up in the groove because it's one of those "bounce your head slowly" type cuts (I'm a product of the 70's and 80's). Anyway, I remember thinking that the lead vocalist sounded much like Kim Stratton. Then, the Spirit confirmed it before the radio announcer stated the artist's name. [My wife just told me this tune was recorded with the LWCC choir...Hey...I didn't know. Don't hate a brother (LOL)]
As I listened, I began to think about some of the recent favor in my life and how G-d is not biased. The Word tells us in Matthew 20:16 "So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen." This means that we receive the FULL BENEFITS of G-d's LOVE when we submit to Him--regardless of how long we have been saved. So, a person who has been in the world (drug dealing, lying, stealing, murdering, etc.) but comes to the Lord TODAY receives the same blessings as the one who gave his/her life to the Lord 20 years ago. That's FAVOR.
Now, on my job, people become a bit upset when someone with little-to-no experience walks in the door making the same salary or more than someone who's been doing the job for 15+ years. Nevertheless, with G-d, it's not about HOW LONG you've been committed to Him; it's about the fact that YOU ARE COMMITTED TO HIM. Your commitment to Him brings FAVOR UPON YOUR LIFE that is unmeasured and heaped upon you without regard to how long you've been on the job.
So, if you desire FAVOR, COMMIT yourself to the Lord! Also, if you desire to hear the song I've mentioned, check track #10 on the front page of this site.
In Love,
Bro. Fred
