The Power of Just Being You Not Being the Next

For a while now I’ve just been having this thing where I‘ve been wanting to speak out about being the “next”.   I’ve been so caught up in my own world that it took me this long to write about it but it’s still in my head so I know God is telling me to talk about it. So here you go!

A couple of weeks ago I tweeted and wrote a status that said “To many of y’all are too busy trying to get what he/she got and God is trying to give you something else. Stop chasing after his/her stuff when God has better things for you.” It was random when I wrote it but at that moment I felt like there was a message I had to bring out.  There are so many people unhappy with what they have and who they are so they are trying to have and become something else.  This is not why you were created I do not  believe God ran out of ideas when He created you.  “For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for YOU, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in YOUR FINAL OUTCOME” Jeremiah 29:11 AMP. When God created you He created you to have your own purpose for His purpose not to walk into someone else’s.  Basically He did not create you to be the “next” being next means second place or runner up.  There is nothing wrong with being second place Mary Mary even stated this in their song Something Bigger “….. nothing’s wrong with second place BUT why stop at the ceiling when God showed me the sky.” When you begin to walk in the position “next” you limit yourself of your full potential because you are  striving to be someone else when you could be better and have more. Just remember to be humble about it “Everyone that is proud in heart is an abomination to the Lord: though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished” Proverbs 16:5 KJV.  Also do not compare yourself to some else and say he/she is better than me someone will have more talent than you but what did it take for them to get there. Just do not get into the habit of devaluing your gifts because you are needed.  “For we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office. So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one member one of another. Having then gifts differing according to the grace that was given to us” Romans 12: 4-6 KJV.

People are not looking for the “next” anyway because they have or already had one. What the world is looking for and needs is YOU and YOUR originality and YOU can offer it to them with YOUR gifts and talents.  Nobody is looking for the “next” because you will just be a reminder of what already is or used to be.  When people think about you don’t you want to come to mind and not somebody else. Ok people might compare or will compare you to someone else that is fine because people will do that that is how people work. But do not allow people to push you into walking in a purpose that one is not yours and two give you something you are not ready for or can handle.  You did not go through what he/she when through to even receive what they have in the first place.

Now please do not twist my words up or get me wrong. I’m not saying it is bad to look up to someone, to admire someone or have someone inspire you to pursue your own dreams and goals.  I’m just saying do not get so caught up in trying to be them you miss out on God’s plans for you and forget what it is like to be you. In order to be you first learn to be comfortable with who you are and know who you belong to in order to walk in what is already yours.  If you are having problems within yourself that is when talking to God takes place casting all your cares upon Him because He cares for you 1 Peter 5:7 plus He’s the source of your purpose.  All in all YOU are one POWERFUL person so show the world that while being YOU.

I LOVE Y’ALL :)  To God be all the glory praise Jesus I love Him. Peace out Tra’Lisha :D !
